The Lube editorial team is always looking for contributors to provide well-balanced exclusive original articles on subjects relevant to the industry. Please see the editorial schedule for a list of forthcoming features.
Core editorial principles
All article submissions should:
- Be exclusive to LUBE Magazine and must not be under consideration for publication or have been previously published elsewhere at the time of submission.
- Be relevant to the global lubricants industry.
- Provide information, insight, analysis or technical expertise of value to readers.
- Be factual, balanced and evidence-based, and avoid unsupported claims.
- Ensure facts, statistics and quotations are accurate and properly attributed.
- Avoid commercial or promotional language, sales messaging, marketing copy and product advertising.
- Be written in clear English for an international professional audience.
- Use British English spelling throughout, except where company names, trademarks or official product names require otherwise.
- Include any technical abbreviations in full on first use, followed by the abbreviation in brackets. For example: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Subsequent references should use the abbreviation only.
Writing style
To ensure consistency throughout the magazine:
- Use sentence case for article titles and headings.
- Write in a professional, informative and impartial style.
- Avoid ending lists with expressions such as “etc.”, “and so on”, or similar open-ended phrases.
Author information
All article submissions should include:
- Full author name and job title.
- Company or organisation.
- A high-resolution author headshot.
- Contact details for editorial correspondence.
Where multiple authors contribute, please provide details for all contributors.

Additional requirements: • Technical accuracy and clarity are essential. • Content must be educational rather than promotional, and can go deeper into the strongly scientific and research aspects of a particular issue than a standard feature. | • Technical illustrations, graphs, charts and figures are strongly encouraged. Copyright of articles/features published in Lube magazine passes to the UKLA, unless the author has agreed prior arrangements with the editor of Lube magazine. PDF copies of articles can be provided but are charged for. These have to be cross referenced to appearing in Lube magazine.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Submissions
We recognise that AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Grammarly, are increasingly used in writing.
Contributors may use AI for support (e.g. proofreading or idea generation), but all submissions must be original and reflect the author’s own voice and insight.
Any significant use of AI must be disclosed at the time of submission. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work.
We do not accept content that is wholly or predominantly AI-generated without meaningful human input, and we reserve the right to reject submissions that do not meet these standards.
PLEASE BE AWARE: Lube Magazine is distributed to subscribers on the first week of every second month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec). If you wish to receive the issue containing your article, please ensure that you are subscribed to Lube Magazine at least two weeks in advance of publication date!
