FUCHS Lubricants (UK) plc has announced a major investment in a new, state-of-the-art Quality Control (QC) laboratory at its Stoke-on-Trent manufacturing facility, supporting the continued expansion and modernisation of its UK operations. The investment builds on recent upgrades to the company’s blending and filling infrastructure and reinforces its commitment to manufacturing excellence, operational agility, and future growth.
The new laboratory is strategically located at the centre of the Hanley manufacturing site, alongside blending and filling operations, enabling faster quality verification, reduced testing times, and closer collaboration between Quality Control and Operations teams. At twice the size of the previous facility, it consolidates all QC activities into one purpose-built space, improving efficiency while enhancing Health & Safety by reducing lone working across the company’s 24-hour operation.
The investment also significantly strengthens FUCHS UK’s analytical capabilities, with the addition of two new Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) analysers, an advanced water purification system, and an automated pour point analyser. Existing laboratory equipment has been redeployed to the Customer Service Laboratory, increasing overall testing capacity and resilience.
