This month will see the retirement of Jacquie Berryman after more than forty years in the industry. In a career that started straight from school as a lab technician in Esso Petroleum, Jacquie grew to become one of the most influential women in the industry.
In 1986 Jacquie joined PARAMINS as a lab technician in Sales Technical Service working on Viscosity modifiers. This was until Infineum was formed in 1999, when she was promoted into Lube Development Technical Service and Formulation Science and really began to hone her skills and knowledge. These were further developed with a couple of years spent in the US around the turn of the century, working as a technologist in Lubes development.
In 2003 Jacqui returned to the UK into a position in Additive Sales, where she stayed for five years until she joined the Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance team to work on the implementation of REACH.
Jacquie’s work preparing for substance registrations and developing business processes led to her first ATC meeting as part of the ATC REACH Consortia and steering team, which she went on to Chair.
When Jacquie joined the Infineum Industry Liaison team in 2014 her influence and understanding led her to be appointed to the UKLA Board of Directors and subsequently elected as ATC President for two-year term in 2021, as well as chair of VLS.
Aldo Govi, CEO, Infineum, said: “Jacquie has been an incredible asset to Infineum, I know she will be missed by everyone in the industry”.
