KRAHN Chemie has been granted distribution rights for the Luwax® range by BASF. The Hamburg-based distributor now supplies premium polyethylene waxes from one of the global leaders in petrochemicals to customers across Europe.
The new partnership with BASF strengthens the position of KRAHN Chemie in the premium wax segment and ensures a reliable supply for customers across Europe. “Working with one of the leading companies in the global chemical industry allows us to bring together proven, high-quality products and innovative approaches,” says Martin John, CEO of KRAHN Chemie. “By adding our technical know-how and tailored support, we continue to deliver successful solutions and create added value for our customers.”
With Luwax®, KRAHN Chemie has added a premium product to its broad portfolio that meets the key technical requirements of PVC processors and plastic masterbatch producers. In addition, Luwax® offers potential applications in rubber, adhesives, home care and professional cleaning products, textile and leather as well as in specialized manufacturing processes for paints, coatings and printing inks. BASF’s Luwax® grades include homopolymer and copolymer waxes that enhance surface properties. The homopolymers serve as lubricants and dispersing, anti-blocking, antifriction, matting or gloss control agent, while the copolymers are particularly effective in dispersing carbon black and other pigments in plastic masterbatches.
“With their strong local presence and expertise, KRAHN is well positioned to ensure that Luwax® products will serve customers efficiently across Europe,” says Larsen Kolberg, Director Distributor Management Engineering Plastics, EMEA at BASF. The new agreement with BASF grants distribution rights throughout Europe, enabling KRAHN to respond flexibly to local market needs. It also reinforces the collaboration of the Otto Krahn Group with BASF, complementing the work of sister company ALBIS, whose trusted partnership with BASF has been in place for nearly 60 years.
